Crofton Community Schools Bond Information

BALLOTS ARE DUE MARCH 12th, 2024!

The Crofton Community School Board of Education has called a school bond election in an amount not to exceed $12,500,000 to address urgent facility and program needs.

mONDAY, fEBRUARY 19TH

At the Elementary School

6:00-8:00PM

Tours will be available along with time to visit with district representatives, design and construction professionals, and finance professionals. Arrive anytime between 6pm-8pm to visit different information tables/booths to get your specific questions answered.

  • Entrance security at the elementary
  • Renovation of current elementary classrooms
  • Renovation of elementary restrooms, hallways, utilities, ect.
  • Removal of some elementary classrooms
  • Replace and build new elementary classrooms to accommodate changes in instructional strategies and growth
    • Classroom Spaces will include: (2) Kindergarten, (1) 1st Grade, (1) 2nd Grade, (1) 3rd Grade, (1) 4th Grade, (1) 5th Grade, (1) 6th Grade, (2) Special Education, (1) Technology, (1) Music, (1) Media Center, (2) Extra Classrooms for class size reduction and/or student work space
  • Construct new elementary cafeteria (move it out of the gym)
  • Replace existing roof at the elementary
  • Renovate elementary gym (bleachers, flooring, ceiling)
  • Entrance security at the high school
  • Construct two locker rooms at high school
  • New Ag classroom closer to Industrial Tech building
  • Construct a multipurpose/wrestling room at the high school
  • Construct a weight room connected to the multipurpose room with community access
  • Attach Industrial Tech building to high school for security

WHAT’S DIFFERENT ABOUT THIS BOND?

Bond amount is $6,000,000 less than prior bond
Elementary staying at current site
Combination of renovation/new construction
District is contributing $1,100,000 toward the project

The multipurpose room will serve multiple purposes including drama, wresting, and other school activities.
